Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific 109: 524, 1997 May Light Curves for 40 Field RR Lyrae Variables A. C. LAYDEN Department of Astronomy, University of Michigan, 830 Dennis Bldg., Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1090 Electronic mail: layden@astro.lsa.umich.edu ABSTRACT. Photoelectric photometry in the BV passbands is presented for 33 nearby RR Lyrae stars. CCD frames are used to recalibrate the photographic photometry of an additional 7 RR Lyraes to the Johnson B band. Light curves are presented for all 40 stars, along with derived light curve parameters. For one subset of stars, reddenings and distances are computed from the observed colors at minimum light, periods, mean magnitudes, and spectroscopic metal abundances taken from the literature. For a second subset of stars, metal abundances, distances, and reddenings are determined via Fourier decomposition of the light curves. The results of the two methods are compared.
