THE ASTROPHYSICAL JOURNAL SUPPLEMENT SERIES, 96:117-121, 1995 January K-BAND GALAXY COUNTS B. A. McLEOD, G. M. BERNSTEIN, AND M. J. RIEKE Steward Observatory, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ 85721 AND E. V. TOLLESTRUP AND G. G. FAZIO Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, 60 Garden Street, Cambridge, MA 02138 ABSTRACT We present new counts of field galaxies from more than 20 arcmin^2 to a limiting magnitude of K = 20 and from 2 arcmin^2 to K = 21.5. At the faintest magnitudes, the counts are slightly higher than those reported previously, though still consistent given the small numbers of galaxies in the two samples.
