CDROM/APJ/V419/P596 UV Radiation from Evolved Stellar Models. I. (Dorman+ 1993) ================================================================================ Ultraviolet Radiation from Evolved Stellar Populations I. Models Ben Dorman, Robert T. Rood, & Robert W. O'Connell <1993, ApJ, 419, 596> =1993ApJ...419..596D ================================================================================ Description: Tables are given for all of the evolutionary tracks in the paper, which represent the evolution from the Zero-Age Horizontal Branch to a point either late in the AGB evolution, or in many cases to a point on the white dwarf cooling sequences. There are sequences for 8 different compositions. The original grid of tracks comprises several tens of thousands of models. In order to make this grid easy to use while not seriously compromising the representation of the evolution, much shorter tables have been derived for the general user. The data given here have been derived from these original calculations by linear and quadratic interpolation routines. For the HB phase, the evolution is represented at a fixed set of core helium values. After core exhaustion, the table points are at fixed intervals along the evolutionary path. The compositions in the tables are denoted as follows: ----------------------------------------------- Filename YHB [Fe/H] [O/Fe] Mc ----------------------------------------------- g14.dat 0.245 -2.26 0.50 0.495 e64.dat 0.247 -1.48 0.60 0.485 j63.dat 0.257 -0.47 0.23 0.475 z22.dat 0.288 +0.00 0.00 0.469 z42.dat 0.292 +0.39 0.00 0.464 z62.dat 0.289 +0.58 0.00 0.458 yz42.dat 0.356 +0.43 0.00 0.454 yz62.dat 0.459 +0.71 0.00 0.434 ---------------------------------------------- The tables contain header records interspersed with the data records, as explained below. As such, these tables CAN NOT be directly converted to FITS ASCII format by processing this document file with the CDS 'tofits' routine. The basic format of each composition is as follows: Header 1: contains the number, N, of data records to follow, mass, metallicity, oxygen and helium abundance Header 2: field names Data 1-N: Data records for this track The sequence of header 1, header 2, and data records then repeats for the next track until the end of file is reached. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- File Summary: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- File Name Lrecl Records Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- e64.dat 82 1695 e64 composition g14.dat 82 2014 g14 composition j63.dat 82 1351 j63 composition yz42.dat 82 1170 yz42 composition yz62.dat 82 1101 yz62 composition z22.dat 82 1408 z22 composition z42.dat 82 1118 z42 composition z62.dat 82 1171 z62 composition -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Byte-by-byte Description of file: *.dat (record 1) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1-15 15X --- --- "Track: lines " 16-19 I4 --- Lines Number of lines in the track 20-30 11X --- --- " Mass = " 31-35 F5.3 --- Mass Mass 36-47 12X --- --- " [Fe/H] = " 48-52 F5.2 --- Fe_H Metallicity 53-64 12X --- --- " [O/Fe] = " 65-69 F5.2 --- O_Fe Oxygen abundance 70-76 7X --- --- " Y = " 77-81 F5.3 --- Y Helium abundance -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Byte-by-byte Description of file: *.dat (record 2) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1-82 82X --- --- Head row for data values to follow -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Byte-by-byte Description of file: *.dat (record 3-n) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1-10 F10.5 Myr Age Age since Zero-Age Horizontal Branch (ZAHB) 11-19 F9.4 --- Yc Central helium fraction 20-28 F9.4 --- log_Teff Effective temperature, Kelvin 29-37 F9.4 --- log_L Surface luminosity, solar units 38-46 F9.4 --- log_g Surface gravity, cgs units 47-55 F9.4 --- log_R Radius, cm 56-64 F9.4 --- Msh Mass at peak energy production rate of hydrogen burning shell, solar units 65-73 F9.4 --- log_Tc Central Temperature, Kelvin 74-82 F9.4 --- log_rho_c Central density, cgs units -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ================================================================================ (End) Lee Brotzman [ADS] 09-May-1994
