CDROM/AJ/V105/P2291 EG Ser (Trudel+ 1993) ================================================================================ The Eclipsing Binary EG Serpentis J.-L. Trudel, J. D. Fernie, & Stefan Mochnacki <1993, AJ, 105, 2291> =1993AJ....105.2291T ================================================================================ Abstract: Stromgren b,y photometry of the detached A-type eclipsing binary EG Serpentis was obtained. Combined with the radial velocity curves in Popper [PASP, 98, 1312 (1986)], it was used to determine anew the system's parameters using the Wilson-Devinney code. The age of the system is derived from a comparison with the Bertelli et al. [A&AS, 85, 845 (1990)] isochrones. Within the accuracy limits, the results are in accordance with expectations. The observations were taken on 47 nights between 1987 and 1992 at the David Dunlap Observatory (DDO), using twin photometers on the 0.5 and 0.6 m reflectors. The comparison star HD 169493 was observed with the 0.5 m reflector while EG Ser was simultaneously observed with the 0.6 m telescope. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Byte-by-byte Description of file: table1.dat -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Label Explanations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1-12 F12.4 --- HJD Heliocentric Julian date of observation 13-24 F12.7 --- Phase Phase 25-31 F7.3 mag y Stromgren y magnitude 32-38 F7.3 mag b-y b-y magnitude difference 39-45 F7.3 mag b Stromgren b magnitude 46-50 F5.1 --- Obs []?
